[ Heat or no heat, Hiccup was determined to get any idea of what this island was like in every area. He'd been through a good chunk of it since he'd woken up here; the mountains had been the first area he'd gone to, reminding him of home, and the desert had been his next area of choice. Ending up on the beach unexpectedly might have been annoying, but it let him get to looking at the tropical area of this island a little quicker than he'd planned before.
So instead of heading straight into the water, he'd turned back to go and look at the foliage; the flowers and trees, the firmer ground they grew in. He only wished he had Toothless here with him so he could get a better look from above, see what the variances were from afar and explore the most interesting looking areas. Thinking about his friend hurt, though, and he tried to push it from his mind to instead study the land, hoping it would lead to some kind of clues. ]

[ Eventually, the heat was enough to make even him uncomfortable. He'd pulled off his shirt and shoe, diving into the water for just a brief moment of relief. Even though his peg leg occasionally liked to sink into the sand, not used to not having a rocky bottom for support, he went out far enough to allow himself to float more freely, letting himself enjoy the cool water as it splashed over his skin.
He'd never dealt with heat like this and he wasn't quite sure how to handle it, but he was glad for the small moment of feeling a little cooled off. ]
