"I was actually thinking of getting a job with the police," she said, settling onto her side and looking over at Lightning with a bemused grin plastered all over her face. "I will always be who I was. But, I am beginning to think that maybe this is enough of a clean start that I could use it as a chance to escape some of my old habits. Maybe trying to be the law of the land would help."

She laughed even as she said it, her hand patting some of that problematic, all-too-hot sand and eyes closing. "More likely, though, I will find some seedy little place to sling booze from. I have no idea what these robots even want, after all. It's almost like we're going through the motions of a society."
