The sun is shining and the weather is nice and toasty. Overly toasty one might argue, even. It's a great day to be laying around at the beach, so it's a good thing that that's where you've found yourself today, whether you'd made plans to be there or not. Bathing suit and sunscreen ready, you're going to get your tanning time on.

But with heat comes the expected side effects for a place like Proxima Gamma. While the cool water can sometimes slow the effects, the heated beaches and freshly popped flowers seem to have made getting close to someone else just seem like a really great idea. You can try to fight off the side effects much as you want, but the scientists like to believe everyone has a breaking point.

[A great day in general when a good looking naked woman was involved. Johnny had no problem with nakedness either. If this was a nude beach, he'd probably be out here completely bare too. But he didn't want to embarrass the more..modest people.

When he caught sight of her from the corner of his eye, he looked to her and returned the smile. Then he waves right back to her.]

I'll say. The water feels perfect. [This place definitely knew how to set the environment. That much was sure.] I know I'm going to end up spending the whole day here.

The whole day? I dunno, you might wind up a prune.

[She planned on in-an-outing herself during the day. Today was a beach day and that meant swimming and tanning. Or sleeping in the shade. Either way, she'd definitely be enjoying the water in spurts.]

I think I'll be fine. [He holds a hand out of the water and after a moment, steam starts rising from his hand, leaving it completely dry.]

I dry quickly.

[Her eyes widened. If she'd been needing to keep herself up by paddling, she would have dipped.]

W... how'd you do that? What was that?

[He laughed a little bit. Yep, he was always amused by reactions like that.]

A little trick I picked up. [Next, his whole hand bursts into flames. Though he doesn't look like he is any pain whatsoever.]

[Riley's first reaction? To yelp. Her second? To grab his hand and try to push it under the water.]

Oh my god, you're on fire!

[Yep. Logic dictated that fire = bad, and fire on someone's hand = really really bad. Sorry, Johnny, she was trying to help.]

[And now Johnny is really laughing.]

My hero. [He says with absolute amusement in his tone. Maybe he's wrong to be laughing at her expense but..on his end, it's just really really funny.]

Why are you laughing?

[She wants to be annoyed because he'd been on fire, but he has a sort of infectious laugh and she finds herself smiling, even though she's trying not to. Pulling his hand up out of the water, she looks it over for damage.]

That was... I don't get how that happened.

[Now he's just smiling at her, because even if what she did was pointless, it was still pretty nice of her to try to help him.]

It's my superpower. Watch. [He spreads the fingers of the arm that she is holding out. And then slowly he lights each one of his fingertips on fire.]

[Her eyes were on his hand, watching each finger light up with a sort of horrific amazement.]

Wait... did you say super power? Like... tights and capes and flying and stuff?

Not so much..tights. I do have a suit, though. And I can fly. And I can set way more on fire than just my hand.

Wait, wait, wait...

You can fly? Like... fly-fly? In the air?

[Said the girl who changed into a giant cat.]

Yeah. I can set my whole body on fire and fly through the air. [It sounds ridiculous, and most might think it was a joke, but he was being serious.] It's really fun.

Your whole body...?

[That was... wow. Okay. Certainly something new. She poked a finger at one of the fingertips lit up. Yep. Real fire.]

Were you born like that?

I wish. That would have made High School way more fun than it already was. They would have had to have a fire safety seminar just about me.

[undomesticated]

[She chuckled, letting his hand go now that she knew he wasn't actually hurt or in trouble.]

Please. They would have had someone following you around with fire extinguishers.
