[ The issue with not taking memories you probably should have months ago, is you don't really know what to expect of the person suddenly before you. He'd always imagined he'd take them before going home, because he knew if he took them prior he'd want to go right away. But there were important things out there, too, so he hadn't. It makes reading her difficult, though, taking in the changes in appearance and physical alterations an impossibility because he doesn't know what should be there or what shouldn't.

And it's weirder, still, when you're used to the closeness of an entirely different group of people because a part of you is like hold her and don't let go but you almost wonder if that's wrong or not allowed, so he tries to swallow it back as he forces his hands into the pockets of cargo pants. Instead he quirks an amused sort of grin. ]

Pretty good at figuring out what's not a dream or is now, actually, dreams are way weirder. [And more likely to kill you.] S'too nice to be any dream like that.
