Test Drive Meme #1

The sun is shining and the weather is nice and toasty. Overly toasty one might argue, even. It's a great day to be laying around at the beach, so it's a good thing that that's where you've found yourself today, whether you'd made plans to be there or not. Bathing suit and sunscreen ready, you're going to get your tanning time on.
But with heat comes the expected side effects for a place like Proxima Gamma. While the cool water can sometimes slow the effects, the heated beaches and freshly popped flowers seem to have made getting close to someone else just seem like a really great idea. You can try to fight off the side effects much as you want, but the scientists like to believe everyone has a breaking point.

Letting out a frustrated sound, she tries to swim around him, hoping to move behind him and attack from behind. He'd have to grab her to catch her if he wasn't careful. She planned to keep moving around him.
Competitive or no, there was a smile on her face.]

And after a few long moments, he makes his move, splashing at her as a distraction attempt before trying to make a grab for her. It's all fun and games, after all. ]

In that moment, the uncomfortable heat she had felt on the beach shore lanced through her like a jolt of electricity. Wide eyed, she stares up at him with his messy wet hair and his own brown eyes staring back at her with his usual look of determination. Their fun and games had somehow turned into something else. It was foreign to her.]
Ah... you- you can- [Why was she so flustered? She should clearly be able to say that he could let her go now, but would he? Even so, it's clear she's distracted, though he probably wouldn't be quick enough to pick up on the fact it was him that was making her this way. What was wrong with her?
This wasn't like her and yet she couldn't stop herself from staring up at him, as if she was expecting him to retaliate further with something more - though whatever more was, she didn't want to think about it. Her hands move down his shoulders, over his wet arms until they rest just above the water's surface. She didn't want him to let her go just yet though she felt like he really should.]

And leave it to him to misinterpret that flustered-ness for trying to sway him into letting her go. ] Not a chance. If I let you go, you'll splash me again. [ Though, looking at her right now, she seems sort of... off? ] Are you okay?
[ Yes, that's actual concern, his voice dropping to a lower tone so as to keep the conversation between the two of them.
It's weird, though. His head feels a little fuzzy and he's pretty sure that pounding sound he's hearing is his own heartbeat. Maybe he's had too much sun. Maybe it's the beginnings of heatstroke? And what the hell was that slightly squishy thing pressed agai-- Oh. Oh.
Well this is embarrassing. ]

This place... ugh. The heat must be going to our heads or something.
[She mumbles to herself, feeling this was a fine excuse for why she suddenly felt so self conscious being nearly skin to skin with him. Still she doesn't insist on pushing him away, her legs wrapping around him almost unconsciously. She felt frustrated but it did nothing to mask how her pulse jumped or how she could feel his own heart jump in his chest, however subtly.]
I'm fine. [It was a stubborn insistence at best, and yet it didn't do anything to detract from the fact that they were still wading slightly int he water together with her wrapped in a loose embrace around him. How lewd.]
