Test Drive Meme #1

The sun is shining and the weather is nice and toasty. Overly toasty one might argue, even. It's a great day to be laying around at the beach, so it's a good thing that that's where you've found yourself today, whether you'd made plans to be there or not. Bathing suit and sunscreen ready, you're going to get your tanning time on.
But with heat comes the expected side effects for a place like Proxima Gamma. While the cool water can sometimes slow the effects, the heated beaches and freshly popped flowers seem to have made getting close to someone else just seem like a really great idea. You can try to fight off the side effects much as you want, but the scientists like to believe everyone has a breaking point.

"Hm...perhaps." He ducked his head, and scooped water over it to wet his hair. "I will not lie and say I am not tempted..." He sighed after a moment. He ran fingers through his hair before glancing at her.
"What is your name? I am Vector."
no subject
Watching as he uses his hands to pour water over his head, she gives him a look equal parts curious and amused. "Easier ways to do that too, y'know. Like this," Though it's tempting to pull him under with her, Apollo disappears under the water on her own. She circles him again before appearing before him, standing this time, unashamedly bare with her hair and feathers dripping with the weight of the water as she pushes some of that bright red hair out of her eyes. "See?"
no subject
"I see..." Understatement. "I just had to make sure to regulate myself to the temperature first. My body doesn't handle rapid temperature changes well." He sank down to his shoulders, realizing after, the interesting point of view this caused. He leaned back and floated on his back, eyes closed as he sighed a moment. Much better.
"I am curious, are you able to fly?" He asked suddenly, tones polite.
no subject
"What, you cold blooded?" Funny, he doesn't look nonhuman. "An' no." She answers, letting herself sink back down when she sees him relax and shift to floating on his back, seeming to enjoy the sensation the ocean's water brings. "Too much of a mutt for that, my body ain't right for flight. Usually it's only fullbloods who get to fly. These," A pause as she pokes her feathers out of the water. "Are just for show."
no subject
He nods as she spoke of her wings. "They are quite striking." He said honestly. "I too cannot fly. But my armor has a function that enables me to glide. I just don't have it equipped right now."
no subject
The way she's looking at him now, hovering much too close and even reaching out to give his arm a poke to test how fleshy or not he feels underneath the suit, is a mixture of curiosity and confusion. Suspicious, too, as though she can't tell whether or not he's telling her bullshit. She's never heard of a bloodless man before.
"'course you don't got armour on, why wouldya wear armour in the water? Or this, for that fuckin' matter-- but how don'tya have blood? What've you got instead?"
no subject
"I am a program." He said simply. "I come from a computer system known as the Grid." He smiled very slightly at her open curiousity. "I was created in the image of the users. Of humans." He clarified. "So I feel physically and emotionally very much like you would." He even had eyelashes by the looks of it.
"As for what I have...I consist of living code and energy that makes me...functioning and alive."
no subject
"What?" The question is short and blunt, and it takes her a few seconds of staring to think of how she should elaborate.
"So you're not-- human? You ain't really... alive?"
no subject
"I'm not human no. But I assure you I am very much alive." He said softly, looking at her with complete honesty. "I would not be standing here if I wasn't." His mouth quirked a little. He'd be a pile of shining pixel cubes but he didn't want to confuse her further by telling her that.
"If there is anything I can do to sate your curiousity or at least reassure you of this fact - I am more than willing." Wait....did he just proposition her? Welp - he was definitely out of his comfort zone (though he could have said that as soon as he woke up here) - but he liked her enough as far as first impressions went that he was willing to at least try and ease her concerns.
