Test Drive Meme #3

Proxima Test Drive
You woke up in a bright white room, disoriented and with a pain in your neck. The mirror in the room showed you a bruise, the injection site of the chip that will control your life while you're here. You have everything on you that you remember having before waking up here and you're looking to find out what's going on. The wall flickers like a screen, showing you your captors. After a brief and highly unhelpful conversation, you're let go, told to find your own way and adhere to the rules -- what little rules there are. You're trapped here on this island, under this dome, and you're about to know what it feels like to be someone's lab rat.
ΦLet's go to the beach - The Eastern Tropics always welcomes new members, hosting parties that go long into the night. Maybe your character feels like taking advantage of the surf, or maybe they just really like hot dogs. Jump in to that volleyball game over there, they can always use more players. Anything goes. ΦDr. Feelgood - Your character has arrived just in time for an experiment. Are their emotions wonky? Maybe they grew a tail or turned bright green. Or maybe everything just feels really, really good. It could be that it's not your character being affected, but someone else's and your character is completely in the dark about it and just trying to help. Anything goes. ΦCall Me - It could be your character prefers to try to do some digging or wants to meet people over the safety of their devices instead of face to face. ΦBlind Date - The scientists have set up a nice, romantic evening for you and an unexpected partner. A table with candles lit, a three course meal, and plenty of romantic music. There's no escaping, so you may as well take the time to get to know one another. ΦWild What do you have to do? Just pick a scenario and go wild. Please be sure to warn in your headers for any questionable or triggery content. It might be helpful to make a note as well if you're open to smutty scenarios or not, along with your preferences. As Proxima is an 18+ game, the likelihood of sexual scenarios happening is pretty high, so please remember to respect the preferences of your fellow players/potential players, and to warn as needed. |
Yang Xiao Long | RWBY | F/M for ships and smut, otherwise OTA
Was Yang mad about being dragged here and chipped like a common pet? The explosion last week in the hospital room that shattered the holographic wall and blew out the windows said 'yes.'
But since then, Yang had calmed down. Once she realized she wasn't going anywhere for a good long while, she decided to make the best of things. ...Outside of an occasional fight with a robot, of course, prompting her to take a trip or two to the south side of the city. It was a good way to relieve tension.
She was still trying to learn her way around, so she decided to go for a walk. It was early in the evening, and the sun hadn't begun to set. She stopped at a diner for a quick dinner, then went exploring the city. At the very least, the guys who'd been dropped here weren't bad looking. If she had to sleep with one or two of them, she'd probably enjoy it. It was just the principle of the thing.

I know you posted this a while ago, so feel free to ignore.
These good deeds mostly had come to trying to clean up the city by fixing run down buildings, repairing rusted out street signs or crumbling walls. Anything to just feel a little less useless. He'd been walking around the city trying to find just such a deed to do, munching on some purchased jerky from one of the market stands as he did so. Guy couldn't work on an empty stomach, that would just be stupid.
Unbeknownst to him, standing not too far from Yang had given Ed the strangest urge - was it hot? Even with the chilled imitation fall air inside the dome? Whatever it was that caused it, he found himself yanking the black, long sleeved shirt he'd worn out into the community up and over his head, going to tie it around his hips so he didn't lose it as he meandered through the market stalls.
BLIND date - OTA
Well, not until she'd finished dinner and ... dessert. Sighing and resting her hand on the table, she began to feel for the utensils before speaking to the other person she could distantly hear breathing.]
I think this is making a blind date too literal.
(OOC: ^.~ it's not really a blind date unless they're both blind. PM me if you want the blindness to be 'cured' in any way other than sexual.)
SURPRISE I couldn't resist lol
Why was it not surprising to her in the least that they would be expected to eat under these conditions? It was almost as bad as Atia.]
No, literal would be having our eyes taken out or something.
[Thankfully those remained intact.]
hehehe, surprise!
That would have been more literal, yes... oh, but I don't need to see to know my date today. I ... haven't heard your voice in so long. Do you remember mine?
no subject
It's a bit hard to forget.
[They had too much history between them, if you asked her. It was almost embarrassing.]
How long has it been?
no subject
I couldn't say for sure, though. Time's hard to keep tabs on but it's been a while.
[As their hands found each other, she twined her fingers with Haruhi's, closing her eyes behind the bindings.]
Are you well? Considering?
no subject
[Memories of Atia overlapped the time she spent back home, bringing a lot of confusing feelings with it. She definitely hoped that this place was better than Chloe described.]
What about any others? Do you know who's here?
[Part of her hopes for a certain blue haired companion of hers, and to some extent even some of their friends, but another wishes Chloe to tell her no one else is being subjected to this place.]
no subject
Not many, but we're not alone. And ... maybe some of it being blurry isn't so bad. It was never easy for you.
no subject
[Easy, that is. Just the memory of the fear of being forced into something she didn't want was enough to put a pit in her stomach. Compound that with the memories of herself being affected by curses, doing things she wouldn't normally do, and that brings a stronger knot to the surface.]
Listen, uhm- [Carefully, Haruhi pulls her hand away as she speaks, eyes shifting away from Chloe's general direction. She's glad that she can hide her guilt for rejecting intimacy directed towards her. Yes, she and Chloe are friends, but there is still something nagging at her. She remembers the girl she had 'helped' in their home. She can forgive it but part of her is uneasy with the knowledge that these hands could be cruel to her just as easily as kind.]
We should focus on right now. I don't- we shouldn't be distracted. We need to figure out how to get these things off and then leave.
[She has an inkling of what that might entail, that they do something sexual here at the table perhaps. It doesn't exactly put her in the mood to do it.]
no subject
Are you sure that you want to figure out how to get the blindfold off that badly, that quickly? I think you know how it's going to happen.
And I'd rather not rush into that. [Her hand reached down, fidgeting on the bench towards Haruhi's knee, seeking to rest there.]
no subject
Immediately, her hand reaches for the one on her knee, keeping her from moving further, but not holding her down so that Chloe could move away if she chose.]
I-I do know that's why I'd rather just get it over with. I don't know anything about this place. I can't learn anything with this thing covering my eyes.
[And the hammering heartbeat in her chest had nothing to do with heightened frustration and everything to do with her friend's proximity. She may have spent two years on that island but she was still the same girl who got easily frazzled by intimate moments such as this. That hadn't changed.]
no subject
I can tell you a lot, right where you sit. I'd rather never 'get this over with' with you. I... have missed seeing you squirm for two long years. If we're going to... I want you to enjoy it.
omg screw you gmail i wanted to tag this >:O
I'm-I'm not... [She tries to speak but just the feeling of the other woman's breath on her ear steals her own breath away. Her voice sounds distant, much to her irritation. Snapping out of it, she pushes on Chloe's shoulder, leaning away so that she doesn't have to feel the goosebumps on her neck anymore.]
Who-who said I wouldn't be happy doing it that way?! [She sounded more embarrassed than frustrated, stubbornly against letting Chloe subtly woo her or whatever she aimed to do. She refused! Casual sex was one thing but nothing was ever 'casual' between her and Chloe and it hadn't been for a while. It was more complicated than she cared to admit.]
Hehe, no worries. We can backtag
Her voice was low, and a little breathless, her eyes shielded and locked away despite the fact that she was imagining so many things right now.]
I think you would always prefer to get it over with, Haruhi, but she's not choking us now. There's no incentive, nothing forcing us. Let me show you what I can make you feel.
[As she whispered it, her lips ran slowly down the length of Haruhi's arm, her voice getting more passionate.]
I want to hear you beg me to let it finish. I haven't heard your sweet voice in so long.
Jin Kisaragi | Blazblue | OTA (for everything)
The walk had cooled him down, no pun intended. Now he was just merely annoyed with everything around him. As per his usual state of mind. When he had shown up, he wanted to cut down every last thing he could find, and freeze solid what he could not. The only thing keeping him from doing so was a lack of understanding. Acting out recklessly could cost him. Dearly.
And thus he had found himself in the heart of downtown. Rather lost, in actuality. He had not been paying attention to where he was going, nor making note of any landmarks to judge his location by. By and large, he had simply been clearing his mind. No small task, considered.
His eyes eventually caught someone. A "free samples" sign outside of some cafe. While he had no interest in whatever samples they were offering, nor any inclination to inbibe or partake in anything of this place...someone else was bound to. Perhaps he could get answers from them.
"One way or another." He muttered as his hand tightened around the sheathed blade at his side. After all, that was how anything got done back home.
Stupid fighting game worlds.B) Call Me
[The voice that speaks across the network right now? Extremely annoyed. And voice only. He doesn't want to broadcast where he is.]
Since the idiots who run this place gave me this, it's only fitting I use it to call them out. But since I know they'll only disappoint me, the rest of you have the chance to try and not.
What is this? The truth of it, not the same vague nonsense I was provided already.
[The only good thing he had discovered so far was this. It was really easy to just hang up on someone.]
C) Wild Card
[More or less for if you have an idea for a different kind of prompt or starter. Feel free to discuss, or just launch into it with me.]

She stayed up almost the entire night, kneading dough for bread, mixing batters for cakes, and whipping up a variety of flavored mousse for the filling and frosting. She was tired, but happy. It felt good to lose herself in one of her favorite activities, and the smells of freshly-baked breads and cakes put her at ease.
Getting customers, though? That was going to be difficult. Fruit probably wouldn't sell well for a while, so she kept it out of the cakes she offered this week. Instead she sold chocolate, mint, vanilla, and coffee flavored desserts, thinking they might be better received.
No customers.
She closed the shop for an hour and ran around town, putting up flyers advertising her new bakery and inviting people to stop by for a taste.
No customers.
Orihime put out a sign advertising free samples. Someone came in! Ate a sample. And left without saying a word.
It was a little discouraging. She leaned her elbows on the counter, her face cupped in her hands. At least she could daydream to pass the time, but she had hoped for a better reception than this.
Then she saw Jin outside the window. Lifting her chin out of her hands, Orihime blinked. Someone new? He didn't look like one of the soulless automatons that populated the city, and he sure didn't dress like them either. And he was entering the shop!
"Welcome!" she chirped, completely thrilled. "Did you come for the samples?"
no subject
It honestly seemed like the dumbest question he could have been asked. She all but jumped towards him the moment he had entered the shop. And the only reason he had was because he had seen someone staring at him through the window. And looked convincing enough to at least check and see if she was really human, or just another one of drones infesting this city.
That was when he realized what he was actually standing in. A brief, stunned expression on his face as his head shifted from one side to another, before finally coming back to her. And instead of annoyance, a bewildered expression.
"Is this a...cake shop?" Of all the strangeness he'd experienced since arriving here, this somehow seemed to be the strangest.
no subject
She could see that he was baffled, and she could understand why. How could anyone pretend that everything was fine in a place where people were kidnapped and forced to undergo sexual experiments? He probably thought she was crazy, or stupid. Maybe both! But really, what could she do?
"We need jobs to earn money to pay for our apartments," Orihime explained further, stooping down to withdraw a chocolate fudge cake and cut a slice. She laid it on a plate and offered it to Jin, along with a glass of cold milk. It was a pretty generous sample, but she wasn't running the bakery for the sole purpose of turning a profit. "It's a little unfair, isn't it? You'd think they wouldn't make us pay for stuff like that. You can get free housing in the south side, but it's really dangerous to live there. A lot of the robots went rogue, and they'll attack people sometimes. I wouldn't recommend going there if you can help it."
no subject
His own attitude of disliking everything not withstanding.
Her explanation only further served to annoy him. Here she was, talking about apartments and money. Why weren't they actively trying to get out of here? His eye twitched right up until she provided the aforementioned sample, which drew his attention away from her. And finally managed to get it all out of him in the form of a long suffering sigh.
"It's pathetic that this is the most information I've gotten thus far." He muttered dryly, and mostly to himself. Not helping was the realization that it had been some time since he had anything to eat. And that cake was looking...tempting. "Just to be clear, I won't owe you anything for this slice, correct?"
Ever the charmer.
no subject
Having only arrived the month before, she remembered all too well the frustration and unease upon her arrival. It was scary. And knowing what was expected of them made it even worse. Dessert didn't change any of that, but if it could help even a little, then she was determined to do what she could.
Coming around the sales counter, she drew out a chair and sat down, hands folded in front of her. "Do you know...about the nature of the experiments yet?"
Because she dreaded being the one to tell him, but if it was necessary, better that he not find out by chance or surprise.
no subject
Though his mind was still very much on the stranger, her actions, and her words. Just because she seemed harmless did not mean she was. And there was still a good chance that this could all be something else.
"No." He answered plainly, hesitating for a moment. Fork hanging just in front of his lips before settling a touch away, allowing him to turn and look at her a little more intently. He had a feeling he was not going to like this. At all.
"No, I do not."
no subject
But. He had to know the truth eventually. Orihime's smile faded, and she exhaled heavily. Chloe had been blunt and straightforward about it, and Orihime had appreciated that. She just hoped this guy didn't lose his temper and draw his sword to cut her head off out of sheer frustration.
"It's sexual," she said, unable to look at him. "I wasn't here for the first one. I avoided the second one by staying in my apartment for a week. But that's what they expect from us."
Orihime raised her hand to touch the side of her neck. The bruise had long since faded, but she still remembered the phantom ache. "They put a microchip inside of us that affects our chemical balance. If we try to get it out, it moves, and sometimes it'll hurt intensely."
Her gaze flicked to Jin, then fell to the table again. "I'm sorry. I wish I had something nicer to tell you."
no subject
And yet he still couldn't have expected the answer. Not entirely. For all the mystery and ill intent dripping about this place, for it to be entirely sexual in nature was...somehow the most infuriating thing about this all.
He set the fork down entirely, fending off his stomach and relying on distrust and paranoia as he gripped at his neck and glared a hole into her head. He wanted to know if she was lying, or if she was just as much a part of all this. It all came back to the fact that she was running some damned cake shop in the middle of all this.
Sighing, he turned back to the cake, looking down at the slice impaled upon his fork. "And here you are, despite it, running a cake shop of all things." There was a tone in his voice. Blatantly accusatory. Suspicious. Before he took the fork again and brought the piece to his lips. If she was innocent, then this was a harmless cake and she was just a fool. And if she was wicked.
Well, the threat was there but unspoken, and his sword was right by his side. She would have to react, wouldn't she?
no subject
"To be honest...I'm not really sure what to do anymore. We've searched everywhere for a way out, but they've been really thorough. But even so... Even so..."
Her shoulders wilted. "The cake is fine. Last week, all of the fruit was tainted, and anyone who ate it got changed. So it's okay to be suspicious of food. If you're not sure, I'll eat a bite too."
no subject
Trapped. Like a rat. In a sick lab that ran sexual experiments. Now, more than ever, he rather wished she was as nefarious as his worst case impression of her seemed. Just to have that excuse to lash out.
"Hmph." He "answered", if you could call it that, before all but stabbing the fork into his mouth and aggressively pulling the piece off. She had said enough to settle his concerns, at least enough to allow himself the chance of being deceived. And in light of not having something to attack, he was going to chew the shit out of that cake.
If he realized how ridiculous he probably looked at that moment, he would have never even stepped into the place.
no subject
"...I'm Orihime," she ventured. "From Karakura Town, in the country of Japan. Ah..." She tipped to the side to make it obvious she was taking his sword into account. "You're probably from a much different world than me, ne?"
Or maybe he just really liked armor and swords. It was possible!
"Do you know how to use the tablet they gave you? It's our primary means of communicating with each other. The other people I've met here have been really kind and helpful."
A - /gently touches your face
"Wai- wait!! Uhm, you don't have to resort to violence, I promise! I can help you if you're lost." Which wasn't the entire truth since she was lost but it would be good to distract him in case he lost his temper and stabbed someone. She had far too much experience with those types when she'd lived on Atia.
oh mai :3
Immediately, his gaze turned upon her. Still sharp and almost volatile at first. And while soften was a particular long stretch of a word to use, it did lose its killing intent when he realized that the person was trying to be helpful, and looked entirely unsettling. Instead, he folded his arms and looked down at her.
"Can you now?"
lmfao Jin pls.... some day I will pick up Noel damn it
"That way!! I came from that way. It's got more stuff than these side streets." And it was better than being in one of the seediest part of the cities. Hopefully her directions wouldn't get her into trouble with this guy.
Ron Weasley | Harry Potter (CRAU) | OTA
[As a guy who's lived on fruits, vegetables, and whatever soups Selenia or Apple decide to make for the past few months Gryffindor's being really stingy on the free samples the people are around are passing out. If there's a sign, he's there, and by this point he's got an entire plate filled with goodies that he's munching on as he takes his time to roam the streets.
It's weirder, still, to actually be in some kind of city. They didn't stay long enough in Camelot after the people were woken up to make that place feel anymore like a home, and the Black Woods were just a bunch of trees. Mind, they had wicked system to get between the trees-- But still trees. He's not even used to seeing people not in team color anymore, his own Sapphire blue uniform making him feel like he was sticking out like a sore thumb. Oh well, their problem.
At least he's got this whole kidnapping thing down-- But maybe in the opposite way he should. Since he kind of just stops and points at something with his mouth full of food and asks the nearest person available:]
Whas bat?
[ WILD CARD. since i am not that creative rn ]

[The purple-haired girl looked to be of mixed oriental, maybe Italian descent. She looked over at Ron with a curious eye, trying to place his face for that moment. Too many had passed in her life, too many she couldn't be sure of. It flickered and she considered for just a moment before grinning.]
New here, I take it?
no subject
[Since he's seen some by now, through games or other people's memories. There was that one game with that mom and her son flying giant robots. But. Those were different than the ones he's currently seeing so it's not like he's got much to go on.
Glancing back at the woman, he shrugged, before arching a brow.]
Here, here. Not the whole kidnapping by a strange lot bit, at least, so I've that in my favor.
no subject
Ah... been a kidnap victim too, have we Ron? [Her grin widened.] I wonder... it took me a second to recognize you, but do you remember me?
no subject
[But then she says his name and his brows furrow. Again, it's not a name he uses often and certainly not one he remembers sharing to anyone outside of Sapphire. And while he had all of his memories-- even if he hadn't taken them quite yet--this woman was no where in them.] Poor idea to ask a former amnesiac what they're supposed to remember, don't ya think?
no subject
It happened enough to me in the past.
no subject
[Because he wouldn't ask for any of his friends or family to be put in a place that liked to torture and kill them every so often.]
no subject
[A sigh] No, I think I know the answer.
and 200 years later, i get a chance to reply. i am so sorry babe.
Every day she was away from Poseidon was a day that she healed. She tried to remind herself of that as she picked up a sample of some sort of dried meat from one of the stands, going to bite off a piece and chewing quietly as she looked around at the other samples. Limited funds meant equally limited choices and she wanted to be sure she picked out only what was necessary.
Her eyes caught the flash of red hair out of the corner of her eye before she even saw his face. She'd thought she was just getting her hopes up at first and she could feel her heart in her throat as she turned to look across the way at him more fully. He was hard to miss in that uniform, an outfit that made her forehead crease as though it was the only strange thing about seeing her best friend in the middle of an island after... well. Too many years.
Hermione swallowed roughly as she took cautious steps in his direction and was almost startled when he actually spoke in her general direction without seeming to fully acknowledge who she was.
Words escaped her for only a second, but when she did speak, her voice was almost hoarse and far more quiet than normal. ]
Honestly, Ron, won't you ever learn manners?
shh i don't even care i haven't been hitting up nongame threads much myself either ;u; so
See, now that's a voice he hadn't expected to hear. Not for a while. It was a voice that was only in memories and not someone he actually really, truly had felt he'd seen in years. Even though it'd only been a near year that he was in Aather before it was all over, it felt like the days were much longer. Longer, still, when the only thing you had to connect you from your life before was memories without any real context.
It's not just the voice that makes him stop, however, but the name. No one really called him Ron in Aather, it was Gryffindor. Occasionally Apple or Selnia would, but in general most people called him Gryffindor and he was fine with that. Well, sort of, it felt weird now really knowing what it meant, but that was a story for another day. Ron just wasn't something he felt as connected with if only for the fact it'd been so long and he changed more than the Ron in his memories.
So it's those two combinations that really make her being there feel like a ghost. Especially when she should be at home. The Darkness was gone, she was never in Aather, she should be home away from crazy kidnappers. Even he, too, should be but he'd decided to keep his memory bracelet put away and help with fighting the Darkness in other worlds longer. So, of course he wasn't there, but she should be. And it's part of why he stares her down, really looks at her carefully to see if she's real or a figment of his imagination.
Sadly, he's still not so great at saying exactly what's on his mind.]
Blimey. Are you really who I think you are?
we're the best at our hobbies
A soft, hesitant smile turned at the corner of her lips, one that hadn't quite reached her eyes as he settled. She could tell that distant expression, the way that he looked at her, much like friends who returned with memories and struggled to recall them. Where had he been? What had he seen? They were questions she wanted to ask, but still kept to herself. ]
Want me to pinch you so you know you're not dreaming?
idk what you're talking about we're fabuluous
And it's weirder, still, when you're used to the closeness of an entirely different group of people because a part of you is like hold her and don't let go but you almost wonder if that's wrong or not allowed, so he tries to swallow it back as he forces his hands into the pockets of cargo pants. Instead he quirks an amused sort of grin. ]
Pretty good at figuring out what's not a dream or is now, actually, dreams are way weirder. [And more likely to kill you.] S'too nice to be any dream like that.
*hair flip*
Reaching up with a slightly hesitant hand in case he pulled away from her touch, she went to brush some imaginary dirt off the shoulder of his uniform, if only to get to feel him solidly underneath her touch and confirm that this wasn't a dream for herself. ]
I take it you went some place other than home as well before here? It seems to be a common thing in this world.
